TUI(FDI) earnings attributable to non-residents increased by 21.4% to EUR 1 114.2 million in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. The most significant income was accounted for by reinvestments (EUR 930.8 million) and dividends (EUR 156.4 million). The largest share of FDI earnings went to investors from Poland (€244.8 million), the United Kingdom (€175 million) and Sweden (€166.7 million).
Cumulative TUI in Lithuania increased by 12.1% over the year, amounting to EUR 32.7 billion as of 30 September 2023 or 46.1% of gross domestic product. On average, Lithuania has EUR 11,400 of TUI per capita (EUR 10,239 as of 30 September 2022). The countries that invested the most in Lithuania were Germany (EUR 5.7 billion), Estonia (EUR 3.6 billion), Sweden (EUR 3.5 billion), the Netherlands (EUR 3 billion) and the United Kingdom (EUR 2.5 billion). Financial and insurance activities attracted the most TUI (€11.3 billion).
Lithuania's direct investment TI inflows abroad amounted to EUR 74.7 million in the period under review. The most significant inflows were recorded in the USA (EUR 62.4 million) and Estonia (EUR 35.8 million), and, by economic activity, in professional, scientific and technical activities (EUR 68.3 million) and administrative and service activities (EUR 38.6 million).
TI's income earned abroad by Lithuanian investors amounted to EUR 93.1 million. Dividends and reinvestments accounted for most of the income Lithuanian investors earned (EUR 43 million and EUR 40.7 million, respectively). The largest revenue share came from investments in the USA (EUR 65.7 million) and economic activity from professional, scientific and technical enterprises (EUR 74.6 million).
Lithuania's accumulated TI abroad increased by 22.7% over the year, amounting to EUR 13 billion as of 30 September 2023. The USA and Latvia are the most important destinations for Lithuanian TI abroad (35.4% and 15.4% of total Lithuanian TI abroad). Professional, scientific and technical enterprises accounted for the largest share of Lithuania's accumulated TI abroad (47.5% or EUR 6.2 billion).
